With a dash of paint...

Doesn't she look beautiful!
First paint job complete!
Looking at her, you wouldn't think it was the dirty chasy of a little while before. After a good clean and being stripped, we were able to give her, her fist coat of paint. Being the home project that it is, we did the painting ourselves.  Took a little time and a steady hand, but we are really proud of the end result!

Stripped to the bone...

After a good thorough clean, this was what was left of our beautiful chasy. We stripped of all the excess parts to cover it in dioxidine so we could prepare it for its first paint job.

The after math....

After finishing our demolishing project, this was what we were left with.
Still in a pretty dirty condition, we will need to fire up the wap and give our chasy a good clean.
To many it may look like a piece of scrap that isn't much worth, but stay tuned....
You will be surprised at how it will look like soon.....

Donor Car....

When this little sucker made his arrival at home, mom blew a gasket through the roof!
Her first thought was that this little car would also find a spot in our car graveyard but her surprise was big when he was chopped up and driven away in pieces in just a few days....

To start our revival, we needed a donor car to source parts from. The easiest and most cost effective victim was a little Volkswagen Bug that has breathed his last breaths. We were sad to see this little sucker demolished but some things need to be done....

I must admit, this was one fun therapy session. Nothing cures stress better than tearing a car apart!

Fitting the puzzle pieces....

As we positioned it, ready to start the long journey of our rebuild, we couldn't resist the temptation to fit all the pieces together so we could get a glimpse how the finished product would look like. With a bit of muscle power and duck tape, we pasted the pieces together. It may only be a rough draft but if makes us very optimistic to see the finished product!

The Buggy has LANDED!!!!

The day we brought our buggy home was a historic day for this father and son team. We have always wanted to rebuild one of these special cars and now we finally have the chance to revive this little legend.
